My Daily Go-To's

I often get questions on social media about my daily habits, and many of them revolve around my favorite foods, vitamins, supplements, etc. To keep it short and sweet, I’m going to share with you the top FIVE things I cannot live without on a daily basis, and a little bit about why each product is so awesome!

1. Juice Plus Orchard and Garden Blend (Chewables)

Juice Plus is a line of plant based products that aim to supplement a healthy diet-to bridge the gap between the fruits and veggies you should consume, and what you actually consume. I consider myself a healthy eater, but I’m human, and I like pizza, which is lacking in the nutrient department. Juice Plus is made from the juice powder concentrates and oils of 48 different fruits, veggies, and grains, and contains much more nutrition than I would be able to consume on my own (especially on the days when my willpower gets the best of me). Just to scratch the surface, the nutrition in these products support healthy heart and liver function, reduce systemic inflammation, promote healthy gut motility, and aid in healing, immunity, and proper nervous system function. Who doesn’t want that?

2. Ascent Native Fuel Whey Protein Powder (Chocolate) 

There are two simple reasons as to why I use this particular protein powder: It has clean ingredients, and it tastes the best! Nothing is worse than clumpy, mealy protein powder, and Ascent has never let me down. One serving has 25g of protein, so I try to have one serving immediately after I workout, and again after dinner if I haven’t hit my protein goals for the day. (I will add, for those of you that prefer plant based protein, that Sprouts Vegan Chocolate Protein is a fantastic option!)

3. Defiance Fuel

If you’ve seen me in the office, you have definitely heard me ask the question, “how much water do you drink a day?” I know I sound like a broken record, but HYDRATION IS SO IMPORTANT. I can’t say it enough. HYDRATION IS SO IMPORTANT.  Once you realize how important it is to consume the right quantity of water, you actually DO need to focus on the quality of that water. Defiance fuel is ultra purified and ionized in such a manner that it promotes the mobility of water INTO your cells, so your body can actually use it. It is also alkaline, at pH 7.4, which is consistent with the alkalinity levels inside of your body. The majority of the water I consume is Defiance Fuel, and my body is happier for it.

4. Defiance Fuel Pre-Workout 

I am a huge believer in using a pre-workout supplement of some sort, for many different reasons. That being said, I have tried A LOT of different products, and I think anyone who has used pre-workout can agree that nothing is worse than starting your workout feeling like your skin is crawling, feeling nauseated mid to late workout, and then crashing shortly after. Paired with some Defiance Fuel water, their pre-workout is my absolute favorite. I feel invigorated and ready to crush my workout, I have sustained energy throughout, and I still feel awesome when I’m done. The following is not a sales pitch, I get no kick back from sales: The first day I used DF Pre-workout I PR’d my squat clean by 10 lbs. True story!

5. Magnesium Supplement

Magnesium is a mineral present in your body, and amongst its many important functions, it works to promote muscle relaxation by aiding in the regulation of muscle contractions. I have tried a few different brands, and the one I have linked above is my favorite. I take it in the evening right before bed (with a ton of water, of course) and it definitely helps me achieve more relaxed and restful sleep, and I am not as sore or stiff in the morning following a rigorous day of training.
